No Such Host Is Known Utorrent: A Simple and Effective Method to Fix This Error

Hi, i used torrent for years. In couple last days i wanted to download something from tv shows and i simple cannot do this.It seems to show me that connecting to peers are last forever. Than i realised that in "trackers" display next to every tracker sign "no such host is known"...This is the image how its look

I don't think I remember changing any settings both utorrent and antivirus/other applications or settings in my PC so I think those are out of the question. The download just stopped working with this message "No such host is known. I can still download other torrents fine I think.

No Such Host Is Known Utorrent

I was downloading torrents on utorrent no problem a week and a half ago. Since Monday approximately, when i tried to restart a torrent, start one already there, or start a new one, they just stay on 'finding peers' indefinitely and there are no peers in the list and under status in trackers it says 'no such host is known'. I have done speed tests and they all end with comments in 'bandwidth' as in the title to this post and a big red cross in the top right hand corner. The 'network' part has a green cross in the corner and says 'Your port is open. Your network is properly configured'.

Last Monday i was downloading torrents on uTorrent fine. Since about this Monday, the torrent gets stuck on 'queued' or 'finding peers' and will not download at all. Also, under 'status' in 'Trackers' it says 'no such host is known.' 'Peers' is completely and utterly blank.

When i do the Setup Guide speed test, it ends with comments in 'bandwidth' that say 'Speed test failed. Look-up error: no such host is known' and there is a big red cross in the top right hand corner. The 'network' part of the window below has a green cross in the corner and says 'Your port is open. Your network is properly configured'.

Double clicking the yellow exclamation mark opens a window.The title in the window is: "uTorrent will test your network and configure itself for best performance."It will not pass any of the bandwidth tests, regardless of the location I choose.It comes up with the error "Lookup error; no such host is known. (11001)

I managed to open the port using Port Forward Network Utilities.But nothing has changed with the download speed.I think the problem lies with the: ""Lookup error; no such host is known. (11001)"

WSAHOST_NOT_FOUND 11001Host not found.No such host is known. The name is not an official host name or alias, or it cannot be found in the database(s) being queried. This error may also be returned for protocol and service queries, and means that the specified name could not be found in the relevant database.

If you have access to a remote web uTorrent or a mobile client (hosted on a Seedbox VPS), you can view all your media files from anywhere and any device (as long as you have a decent Internet connection) on both ends. But still, it is better to leave torrenting for uTorrent and streaming for the kings of streaming. Use media streaming solutions such as Plex or Kodi with powerful built-in transcoding capabilities. Plus, you can sort, organize, and share all your uTorrent content via these streaming services.

Besides boosting internet performance, proxy servers can also enable people to browse privately by hiding their IP. However, proxy servers are known to conflict with some network-based apps such as uTorrent. To fix this error, you can disable proxy servers:

As we mentioned earlier, all the information you need to access the shared data is located within a torrent file. These are created by the original distributor of the data, who then becomes the original seeder when they upload the file to a hosting site such as The Pirate Bay.

People download different kinds of Torrents whether its games, movies, software or anything which is available on the internet. Many people do not know how to correctly configure and optimize uTorrent's downloading capabilities due to which they report numerous issues when using BitTorrent clients like uTorrent. One such reported issue occurs while downloading files where uTorrent becomes stuck on "Connecting to Peers".

uTorrent not connecting to peers means that a client can't start downloading the desired file from torrent. Now, before proceeding towards the detailed solutions indexed below, check the speed of your internet connection by running a speed test. A stable internet connection is vital when you want to download files. If your internet is working fine then navigate to the methods stated below to resolve this issue.
Method 1: Modify the uTorrent Settings
To connect to peers and start downloading follow the steps mentioned below:

 Click on the Options button located on the top left corner of the screen and when the dropdown menu appears in front of you, select Preferences from there.

 Select BitTorrent and afterward in the Protocol Encryption section, change the Outgoing option from Disabled to Forced.

 After completing the above steps, check the downloading files again and see if the issue of connecting to the peers goes away. If the connection is still not established, then proceed to the next method.

Method 2: Monitor Your Firewall
Your Firewall might interfere with some of the features of uTorrent hence make sure that your Windows Firewall or any third-party Antivirus is not blocking uTorrent. If you've installed any third party Antivirus software it would've modified your settings and you would have to manually allow the uTorrent to bypass through Windows firewall. Hence, in order to do so follow the guide below:

 Click on the search bar and type Firewall and Network Protection.

 Navigate to the Allow an app through firewall option, and choose the Change settings button.

 Move down the list to find uTorrent. Afterward, check both Public and Domain options and save your settings. Note: If you can't find uTorrent in the list, add it manually by clicking on Add another app option.

After monitoring your firewall open uTorrent and try to download any file from there and check whether the issue is resolved. If the bug still exists proceed to the next method.
Method 3: Enable Port Forwarding
Another quick way to get rid of this issue is that you should enable port forwarding on your system because, in order for uTorrent to work efficiently, it requires opened network ports that allow incoming and outgoing traffic. You can set up port forwarding which helps in pushing the traffic from the BitTorrent ports to your PC (and vice versa). This aids uTorrent in making a steady connection. Therefore, follow the steps illustrated below to enable port forwarding on your system:

 If your network has automatic port forwarding options like UPnP and NAT PMP then uTorrent can itself advance firewall limitations and associate your PC with the users that have already downloaded torrent files. Navigate to the options located on the top left corner, click on Preferences, and then choose Connection.
 Check the three boxes highlighted in the picture below to directly connect to the seeders, then click OK.

If the error "connecting to peers" still displays on your screen try some more fixes indexed below.
Method 4: Run Network Configuration Tests on uTorrent
The backbone of this error could be the altered Network Configuration. Therefore, to monitor your network settings and, to modify uTorrent’s settings to the most optimal configuration, run these uTorrent tests below to troubleshoot the issue.

 Click on the Options button located on the top left corner and from there select Setup guide. You will observe that the uTorrent setup guide window will open in front of you and from there check the Network and Bandwidth boxes.

 Click on the Run Tests option below and once the setup guide has completed, the results will be displayed under Bandwidth and Network section. Any preferred changes will be automatically saved when you will tap on the Save & Close button.

When you'll run tests the uTorrent will automatically configure your Internet settings and it will resolve any issues if they're present that might be preventing you from downloading the torrent files.
Method 5: Try a VPN
Try to use Virtual Private Network (VPN) to bypass the restrictions so that you are able to share and download torrent files. Choose the VPN provider wisely because when you are trying to connect to the servers, some VPN's can block BitTorrent connections. Therefore, to guarantee the absolute compatibility and security, I recommend using Nord VPN, because it allows you to share and download files without any problems.

Workaround: If you're still unable to get rid of this problem then consider downloading some other torrent of the same game/software/movie. Always choose and download those torrents which have a large number of seeders. High seeders show that the particular torrent is more actively shared, so it will probably download faster. If the torrent file is rare, you will have to wait for a long time to download it and there is a high probability that you'll encounter this Peers issue on your system. On the other hand, if the file is readily available (e.g. a popular movie) then find a different version of it, with more seeds/peers.
@id":"#Publisher","@type":"Organization
Appuals.com
@type":"ImageObject
["https://facebook.com/appuals","https://twitter.com/appuals","https://www.linkedin.com/company/appuals/","https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCR--2QnA0vYBfqsmSI3pQ9g","https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/appuals
@type":"Person
Kevin Arrows
https://appuals.com/author/admin/
Kevin is a dynamic and self-motivated information technology professional, with a Thorough knowledge of all facets pertaining to network infrastructure design, implementation and administration.
